Night Kitchen Interactive is an award-winning design studio with over 20 years’ experience creating compelling digital solutions for our clients. Our office is located in a charming three-story building, originally a Victorian candy shop, in Philadelphia’s lively Fishtown neighborhood. We are just minutes from the Girard MFL subway stop, the trolley and the Girard exit off I-95. We’re a short walk from great restaurants, bars and cafes such as Frankfort Hall, Barcade and La Colombe, and an assortment of music venues, galleries, and antique shops. ANIMATOR & COMPOSITOR - The intern's role will be to collaborate with the design and production team in the creation, animation, and rendering of 3D assets for digital projects. We are looking for an animation generalist with experience in image manipulation, 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and character animation. Additional skills in graphic design, videography, compositing, and/or integrating assets into the Unity game engine are preferred. The intern will be responsible for creating art assets for a mobile Augmented Reality application for iOS and Android. Other upcoming projects include VR videography for a historical institution, animal and environment animation for a series of science education games, and video editing and updates for a VR Dome Theatre project. There's always something new coming in! While at Night Kitchen Interactive, you will learn how to function as a key member of an award- winning interactive design team, helping to produce projects from creative conception through design and implementation.

This position requires the use of Autodesk Maya and the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, Photoshop, and AfterEffects. Familiarity with a range of digital imaging tools, including Unity, Nuke, Substance Painter are preferred. Additional skills in video production, illustration or graphic design are a plus! While at Night Kitchen Interactive, you will learn how to function as a key member of an award-winning interactive design team, helping to produce projects from creative conception through design and implementation. Primary tasks involve working from storyboards to produce animatics and 3D layouts, modeling of background assets, rigging and character animation, render wrangling, compositing, video production and editing, and quality assurance. We are a small team and wear many hats, so the ability to flex between different roles in the animation pipeline is a must. The intern will also be expected to do a range of administrative tasks, including archiving, data and word processing. Successful candidates will have a strong 2D and 3D art skills, good communication and organizational skills, and at least 1-2 years towards a degree in Animation & Visual Effects, Game Design, Digital Media, Interactive Design, or a related field. Experience working with and/or interest in cultural institutions is a plus! Prior to the interview, candidates are expected to provide us with a demo reel or equivalent portfolio of animation work.


GRAPHIC DESIGNER - This position requires knowledge and expertise in graphic design for digital experiences such as touchscreens, websites, mobile apps and interactive installations. Primary tasks involve designing assets in Adobe Illustrator, typography and layout for multiple screen sizes, illustration, and photo processing. Other tasks include quality assurance, user experience design, wireframing, participating in team meetings, and integrating assets into the graphics pipeline. Additional skills including web development, animation (2D or 3D), game design, or VR/ AR experience are a plus. We are a small team and wear many hats, so flexibility is a must! While at Night Kitchen Interactive, you will learn how to function as a key member of an award-winning interactive design team, helping to produce projects from creative conception through design and implementation. The Intern/intern will also be expected to do a range of administrative tasks, including: archiving, data and word processing.

The intern's role will be to collaborate with the design and production team to ensure that our visual assets fit established brand guidelines and are delivered with attention to details like resolution, format, visual quality and professional polish. The successful candidate will be able to find creative solutions to complex design challenges for educational and cultural environments. We are looking for someone with good communication and organizational skills, and at least 1-2 years towards a degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Design, User Experience, Digital Media, or a related field. Experience working with and/or interest in cultural institutions is a plus. The intern will be responsible for assisting in development of a Unity-based mobile Augmented Reality project for iOS and Android, and working on a number of active projects for our museum clients. Prior to the interview, candidates are expected to provide a link to a portfolio or demo reel that showcases relevant work experience.


UNITY / INTERACTIVE GAME DEVELOPER - The successful candidate will be responsible for continuing development on a Unity-based mobile Augmented Reality application for iOS and Android. Prior to the interview, candidates are expected to download a Git repository and review our existing code for discussion. Other upcoming projects include web development for a large National museum client, Unity coding for a series of touchscreen games, interface coding for an immersive VR Dome Theatre project, and updates for a 4K digital "seek and find" touchscreen activity. There's always something new coming in!

This position requires skills in C# and Unity development. Skills in a range of programming environments, particularly JavaScript, HTML5 & CSS, are preferred. While at Night Kitchen Interactive, you will learn how to function as a key member of an award-winning interactive design team, helping to produce projects from creative conception through design and implementation. Primary tasks involve C# programming, API/asset integration of Augmented Reality functionality, quality assurance testing and development documentation. The intern will also be expected to do a range of administrative tasks, including: archiving, data and word processing. Successful candidates will have a strong C# development skills, good communication and organizational skills, and at least 1-2 years towards a degree in Computer Science, Digital Media, Interactive Development, or a related field. Experience working with and/or interest in cultural institutions is a plus. Candidates are expected to download and review a Git repository prior to their interview.
